Not far from Vrbanj, the biggest village on the island, some 4 km from Jelsa,  is located the village of Svirče. Here we find the church complex called St. Magdalena built on the location of the old church from the 18th century and the cemetery from the 19th century which is protected as a monument. Every visitor will be delighted by the stone houses connected by bridges, paved courtyards, also by the residents of Svirče who are mostly orientated on the cultivation of  vineyards and olive trees, so you will be able to, with a little luck, in one of the taverns try some homemade wine or homemade olive oil.
